Fergie or Stacy Ferguson is a Grammy Award-winning American hip-hop singer, songwriter, and actress. She is best known for being the vocalist of Black Eyed Peas. She is also known for being a member of Kids Incorporated for five seasons and for being part of the girl band, Wild Orchid.

Stacy Ann Ferguson was born on March 27th, 1975 in Hacienda Heights, California. Her parents Patrick Ferguson and Terri Gore raised her and her younger sister Dana in nearby Hacienda Heights. They encouraged the two sisters to pursue careers in the showbiz world.

In 1983, Fergie made her television debut as the voice of Sally in the cartoon show The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show. She continued lending her vocals to the character of Sally in the television films It's Flashbeagle, Charlie Brown (1984) and Snoopy's Getting Married, Charlie Brown (1985).

In 1984, Fergie appeared in the pilot for the musical television show, Kids Incorporated. The show became a big hit and she sang backup on it for five years till 1989.

In 1986, Fergie acted in the horror comedy film Monster in the Closet. That year, she also acted in the television films Kids Incorporated: Chartbusters and Kids Incorporated: Rock In the New Year.

After leaving the Kids Incorporated show in 1989, there was a hiatus in Fergie's career and she went back to her normal life. She next formed a band Wild Orchid with Stefanie Ridel and another Kids Incorporated member Renee Sandstrom. In 1997, they released their debut album, Wild Orchid. This was followed by Oxygen in 1998. However, in 2001, their label refused to release their third album and they disbanded.

Following the breakup of the band, Fergie got so depressed that she got addicted to the drug crystal methamphetamine. She then sought therapy.

Things changed for Fergie in 2003 when she met will.i.am and became the lead female vocalist for the Black Eyed Peas. After recording five songs, she was invited to join the band permanently. It was not long before the band became highly popular. In 2005, the band won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group for the song Let's Get It Started. The next year, they won the Grammy again in the same category for their song Don't Phunk with My Heart. Fergie was now a star. She also graced the cover of the For Him Magazine in January 2005.

In 2005, Fergie appeared as herself in the comedy film Be Cool.

In 2006, Fergie embarked on her solo career with the release of her debut solo album The Dutchess. That year, she also acted in the flop film Poseidon
